Swap: going, going, gone

This may be the quickest swap ever! The itsybitsy weeTinySock swap is ongoing this weekend, and i've finished up my WeeTinySock. It's knit in AlpacaSox yarn, and i like it much better knitted in this sock, than when I tried to knit it for socks for me. Aaanywaaay, i'll mail it off tomorrow to my swap partner. And I'll be done!

The Temptation that I fell for

Aren't these cute? Little stitch markers with letters and an argyle pattern. They came from girlontherocks Etsy shop, my splurge for the month. They're a splurge because I really don't have anything planned that I NEED lettered stitch markers for. Well, maybe for the lace stole, if I ever finish up on the current WIPs...

happiness is....

My happiness today, was when I Realized I could fit into a pair of my husband's jeans! Yay!

Well, I haven't been able to for several months. I should buy myself some new (non-maternity) pants, but I hate shopping. loathe it, whole heartedly. so, beingg able to...um, urhmm, "borrow" my husband's is a wonderful alternative.

Baby stuff

I keep an eye on a couple of the Ravelry groups on breastfeeding, LLL Knitters and Crocheters and Breastfeeding Knitters. A couple of posts have been talking about baby-wearing, and it reminded me that I had a homemade baby sling hiding in my closet. I had used it with Little J, but hadn't got it out yet for the little girl. So today, while the little ones were getting a nap (thank goodness!) I put the sling back together. www.WearYourBaby.com has good instructions for baby wearing, and, SlingRings has the rings to make your own baby sling.

Yes, mostly i've been having baby things lately. I haven't had a lot of knitting, I've been dealing with family life. I _am_ slowly knitting more on the pomatomous socks. On the second sock, I'm currently working on the heel flap. Yay! Halfway done!

two very important things about babies

that I had totally forgotten about.

First, babies go through an amazing amount of diapers. Little G is using more than a dozen diapers a day. that's a lot of diaperness.

Second, a new baby requires a lot of time. Much, much, much. especially if you, like me, are constantly holding her. But even if not, feeding, changing diapers (see above) and entertaining her still require a large amount of time.

posting may be intermittent for a while. Besides Little G, who dosen't like me on the computer (i start to ignore her. Bad mommy.) Little J is being needy these days. poor child, his routines have all been changed.

Overall, we're doing well. Little G is growing, and I'm not getting enough sleep...pretty normal.

talk to you later :)
