LLL aplication - About You ver 2

This is the short version. ;)

I'm a 29 year old mommy of a very active one year old. I'm a wife to a wonderful man. And, I'm a person who hasn't found her niche on how to make the world a better place yet. I think that being a LLL leader could be the niche for me. I like to teach, to listen to other people, and I feel a need to help others. I have a strong educational background in biology, and I feel that nursing is very important for both mothers and babies.

I've thought about becoming a LLL leader. I've also thought about becoming a Doula. Right now isn't the right time for me to be jumping into it, but I really think I am going to do the LLL thing in a few years. I had a LOT of trouble nursing my first and gave up due to a lack of support/help after 4wks. With my 2nd I was not going to take no for answer and ended up nursing/pumping for her for 10mos. Then my third came around and it all worked without a hitch and he nursed for 15mos, having to be weaned due to a death in the family basically overnight - but fortunately he did great. Ever since I had so much trouble I've wanted to help other women learn that it's not always as easy as it should be and that doesn't mean there is something wrong with them!

Go for it! We're big breast-feeding fans here- all three have been breast fed. I was such a staunch supporter that I pumped through a hysterectomy hospital stay and the meds that followed so I wouldn't lose my milk. You'll make a difference in great ways being a LLL leader.
